Preview and curated pages

The middle of the Workspace is a tabbed surface split into two kinds of tabs: Preview tabs are read-only, and curated page tabs are editable. Both are scoped to the active research session, so what you open and save travels with the session. The Chat column on the far right also produces envelope-like responses that can be copied into curated pages.

Preview tabs

A Preview tab shows the rendered output of a single Reflect result, a mental-model content preview, or any other envelope opened from the Workspace. It is read-only and exists to let you inspect a result before deciding whether to copy it into a curated page.

What a preview can contain

A preview envelope may contain any combination of:

SectionPurpose
NarrativeProse blocks, headings, and lists answering the query.
DiagramMermaid diagrams rendered inline with copy/export controls.
TableTabular results with column headers and row data.
GraphEntity/edge visualisations built from the contextual graph.

Each envelope is independent. The preview tab shows whichever directive produced it, but you do not edit the envelope here.

Preview controls

ControlWhat it does
IndexShow or hide paragraph/section numbers for quick reference.
PlainStrip formatting and view the raw text.
CopyCopy the full envelope or a selected section to the clipboard.
Save as MarkdownDownload the rendered content as a .md file.
Render MarkdownToggle inline Markdown rendering for source blocks. Defaults to on.
Copy to a curated page

From a preview or from a Chat agent response you can copy a section directly into an open curated page. This is the fastest way to move from a Reflect answer or chat result to a composed document.

Markdown spacing

When a preview or chat response contains multiple envelope sections, the renderer inserts blank lines between sections so that headings and prose do not run together.

Curated pages

Curated pages are editable documents you build inside a session. A page is a sequence of sections; each section is a discrete block such as a narrative paragraph, a diagram, a table, or a graph. Sections can be reordered, edited, removed, and restored while the page remains unsaved.

Creating and managing a page

ActionHow it works
New pageCreate a blank curated page from the tab bar. You can pick a title or let the UI assign one based on the first content.
RenameDouble-click the tab title or use the tab menu.
DeleteRemove the page from the session. This cannot be undone.
Reorder tabsDrag curated-page tabs to change their order.

Curated pages autosave. A transient dirty indicator appears while edits are being saved.

Sections are the building blocks of a curated page. The editor shows each section with its own controls.

Section typeEditing notes
NarrativeEdit prose directly; headings, lists, and paragraphs are preserved.
DiagramEdit the Mermaid source; the renderer updates as you type.
TableEdit cells, add or remove rows and columns.
GraphGraph sections are read-only snapshots from previews.

Soft delete and restore

When you remove a section, it is not immediately discarded. The editor keeps a soft-deleted section visible until you save the page, so you can restore it if you change your mind. Once the page is saved, deleted sections are removed permanently.

Dirty state

A curated-page tab shows a dirty indicator while edits are being saved. Once autosave completes, the indicator clears.

Evidence modal

When a preview or chat graph includes evidence, you can open the evidence modal to inspect the source documents and memories behind it.

ControlBehavior
Source documentsCollapsed by default. Expand a document to see its metadata and the chunks that support the selected evidence.
Chunk textThe text of a chunk appears when you expand it. Selecting a document loads all of its chunks at once.
Document metadataDocument details appear when you expand a source document.

From preview or chat to curated page

The typical flow is:

  1. Run a Reflect query, open a mental-model preview, or ask the Chat agent a question.
  2. Inspect the result in a read-only Preview tab or in the Chat column.
  3. Copy one or more sections from the preview or chat response.
  4. Paste them into a curated page, or create a new page from the copied content.
  5. Edit, reorder, and supplement the sections until the page says what you need.
  6. Save the curated page to persist it in the session.

Agent responses in Chat also expose an Add to page action on each envelope section, so you can move a chat result into a curated page without switching tabs.

How it fits into the Workspace

  • Reflect queries and Chat replies produce the content that lands in previews.
  • Preview tabs let you inspect and select content.
  • Curated pages let you compose the final document.
  • Session items record the query, chat, and curated-page history for later review.

Summary

Preview tabs are read-only windows onto Reflect results, Chat agent responses, and mental-model content. Curated pages are editable session-scoped documents made of sections that can be copied from previews or chat, edited, reordered, and saved.
