Servers
The Servers page is where you register and manage the Hindsight servers that architxt connects to. Before you can sync documents, build contextual graphs, or run Reflect queries, you need at least one healthy Hindsight server configured in architxt.
This page describes how to add a server, check its health, and open the bank-level contextual-graph settings.
What the Servers page shows
The page lists every Hindsight server you have registered. Each row shows:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Server ID | The internal architxt id for this server record. |
| Name | A friendly label you assign when registering the server. |
| Base URL | The Hindsight API endpoint, e.g. http://localhost:8888. |
| Graph Banks | Which banks on this server are enabled for contextual-graph management, and whether each is in Manual (M) or Auto (A) mode. |
| Health | The result of the last health check, either OK or Error. |
Registering a server
You can register a server in two ways:
- Environment variables. If you start architxt with the
hindsightDocker Compose profile, a default server athttp://hindsight:8888is registered automatically. See Configuration for theHINDSIGHT_*variables. - Servers page UI. Click the Add Server button, enter the base URL, name, and credentials, and save.
Once saved, the server appears in the list and its banks become selectable throughout architxt.
Checking server health
Click Health on a single row to check just that server, or select several servers and click the Health toolbar button to check them in bulk. The health column updates with the result. A failing health check usually means the base URL is unreachable or the credentials are invalid.
Configuring graph banks
Each server row has a Banks button. Clicking it opens the Graph Banks dialog, where you decide:
- Which banks on this server are managed by architxt.
- Whether each bank syncs manually or on a schedule.
- Import and deploy limits that cap how much graph data and how many mental models are created.
- Destructive clean/clear actions for resetting a bank's graph, views, or mental models.
See Bank graph settings for the full reference.
Deleting a server
Select one or more servers and click the Delete toolbar button. Deleting a server record in architxt does not delete the Hindsight server or its banks; it only removes the connection from architxt's local settings.

Servers are the top-level data source. Everything that touches a Hindsight bank — sync, contextual graphs, mental models, Reflect queries, and Views — starts from a server registered on this page.
Summary
Register Hindsight servers on the Servers page, check their health, and use the Banks button to configure which banks architxt should manage as contextual graphs. With a healthy server and at least one enabled bank, you can move on to Hindsight Sync, Context Patches, or the Workspace.
